Bleach Vol. 12

The Seireitei descends into disorder as the captains and lieutenants respond to the intruders’ continued progress. After Sōsuke Aizen is found apparently murdered, Momo Hinamori turns her grief and suspicion against Gin Ichimaru. Her confrontation with Gin’s lieutenant, Izuru Kira, is stopped by Toushirou Hitsugaya, who warns Gin that he will kill him if Hinamori is harmed.

Ichigo, Ganju Shiba, and Hanatarou Yamada continue through the underground passages toward Rukia’s prison but are intercepted by Kenpachi and Yachiru Kusajishi. Unable to injure Kenpachi at first, Ichigo is nearly overwhelmed by the captain’s immense spiritual pressure. By trusting Zangetsu and accepting that their strength must be shared, Ichigo returns to the battle with enough power to wound his opponent.

Elsewhere, Yasutora Sado advances alone through the Seireitei, defeating the Soul Reapers sent against him while remembering the promise that shaped his bond with Ichigo. His progress eventually brings him face-to-face with Eighth Company Captain Jirou Souzousa Shunsui Kyouraku.
