The Death and the Strawberry

Ichigo confronts Yhwach with his combined Soul Reaper, Hollow, and Quincy powers, but The Almighty allows Yhwach to break his Bankai by altering the future. Shūkurō Tsukishima inserts a past in which Tensa Zangetsu was never broken, enabling Orihime Inoue to restore it. Meanwhile, Uryū Ishida reverses his injuries onto Jugram Haschwalth, but The Balance turns the damage back against him. Yhwach later absorbs the power of Haschwalth and Gerard Valkyrie, leaving both to die.

Yhwach returns to Soul Society, where Sōsuke Aizen uses Kyōka Suigetsu to confuse his perception of the future. Ichigo joins the battle and strikes Yhwach, but the Quincy king begins restoring himself through The Almighty. Uryū then shoots him with an arrow forged from Still Silver, briefly stopping his power and allowing Ichigo to defeat Yhwach with Zangetsu.

Ten years later, Soul Society has been rebuilt and Rukia Kuchiki becomes captain of the Thirteenth Division. Ichigo and Orihime have married and are raising their son, while Rukia and Renji Abarai visit the Human World with their daughter. The two children meet as the last remnants of Yhwach’s power disappear.
