Bazz-B continues his confrontation with Haschwalth while recalling their childhood together. After Yhwach destroyed Bazz-B’s home, the two boys trained for years with the shared goal of infiltrating the Wandenreich and killing him. When Yhwach recognized Haschwalth as his other half, however, Haschwalth accepted a place at his side while Bazz-B was relegated to the Sternritter. Their present-day duel ends when Haschwalth mortally wounds his former friend, leaving Bazz-B to die after one final unsuccessful attack.

Elsewhere, Zaraki attacks Pernida Parnkgjas, but the Quincy twists his arm through nerves transmitted into his body. Mayuri incapacitates Zaraki to prevent further injury and begins studying their opponent. Pernida emerges from its cloak, revealing itself as the sentient left arm of the Soul King, and demonstrates the ability to control living and inorganic matter through The Compulsory.

Mayuri counters Pernida with drugs, specialized equipment, and a modified Bankai that gives birth to an altered Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō designed from information about its opponent. Pernida survives by evolving rapidly and reproducing through severed fingers. When Mayuri becomes trapped by its nerves, Nemu Kurotsuchi disobeys his orders and enters the battle to save him.
