Ōetsu Nimaiya overcomes Askin Nakk Le Vaar’s lethal-dose manipulation and cuts him down, apparently eliminating Yhwach’s entire Schutzstaffel. Yhwach responds with Auswählen, taking power from the Sternritter remaining below and using it to revive and strengthen his elite guards. The restored Lille Barro, Gerard Valkyrie, Pernida Parnkgjas, and Askin overwhelm Squad Zero, leaving Ichibē as the final obstacle before the Soul King.

Ichibē demonstrates authority over blackness and names through Ichimonji, erasing Yhwach’s name and power before renaming him “Black Ant.” He then attempts to destroy the diminished Quincy king with Futen Taisatsuryō. Yhwach nevertheless awakens The Almighty, an ability that allows him to perceive and overcome every future, and uses it to kill Ichibē.

Ichigo Kurosaki and his companions reach the palace shortly afterward. By speaking Ichibē’s name, Ichigo restores part of the monk’s body and power, but Ichibē declares Squad Zero defeated and asks him to stop Yhwach. Inside the Soul King’s chamber, Yhwach confronts and impales the motionless ruler while revealing that Yhwach is the Soul King’s son.
