Editorial Standards

AnimangaInfinity is a reference catalog for anime and manga: series, works, print volumes, chapters, story arcs and characters. Our aim is that every page answers a specific question accurately — when a volume releases, what a character’s canon details are, which chapter an anime season adapts up to.

We are not a news wire and we do not aim to be. Where we publish articles, they are written to add something the existing results do not already provide.

Catalog records are assembled from a combination of:

• Public catalog APIs — series, work and character records are seeded from open anime/manga databases.
• Publisher and retailer catalogs — print data (ISBN, release date, page count, format) is taken from the publisher’s own listing wherever one exists.
• Official release schedules — chapter and episode timing comes from official publisher and simulpub schedules, refreshed automatically.
• Our own writing — summaries, character profiles, guides and articles are written for this site.

Imported records are a starting point, never the finished page. A record that carries no original writing of ours is deliberately excluded from search engines until it does.

We use AI tools to draft catalog content — character profiles, volume summaries and section rewrites. We say so plainly because we think readers are entitled to know how what they are reading was made.

What that does and does not mean:

• Nothing is published unreviewed. Every draft is read, corrected and applied by a human editor before it goes live. Drafts that are wrong are discarded rather than tidied.
• Facts are checked against canon. A drafting tool that cannot support a detail is instructed to omit it rather than guess. Heights, ages, dates and ISBNs are the details we are strictest about.
• Structure and relationships are ours. How entities connect — a character to a series, a chapter to a volume, an arc to a chapter range — is our own schema and editing work.
• We do not mass-publish. Drafting at volume is only useful to us if the output is reviewed at volume, so the queue moves at the speed a person can check it.

If you find something inaccurate, it is a mistake we want to fix — please tell us.

Factual claims are expected to trace to a source. For print data that means the publisher’s own catalog listing; for character and story detail it means the manga chapter, volume, databook or official profile the detail appears in.

Where a fact is contested, unclear or has changed between editions, we prefer to say so rather than pick one silently. Where a fact is not established in canon, we leave it out — an absent field is more useful than an invented one.

We treat spoilers as an accuracy problem, not a courtesy. A reader who arrives from a search result has not opted in to anything.

• Opening paragraphs and fact tables never contain deaths, betrayals, true identities or story outcomes.
• We do not publish a character’s living status as a fact field, because it spoils the story in a place readers scan rather than read.
• Later-story detail inside article sections is hidden behind a spoiler control you choose to reveal.
• Titles, descriptions and preview images never carry a spoiler.

We correct errors rather than quietly deleting them. When we correct something material, the page carries a dated note explaining what changed.

Catalog pages are living records. When a release date moves, a volume is announced or a new chapter is published, we update the page and its modification date rather than publishing a duplicate. The original publication date is never rewritten to make content look fresher than it is.

Cover art, promotional art and character imagery remain the property of their respective creators, publishers and licensors. We display them at catalog scale for identification and commentary alongside our own editorial content. If you hold rights to material used here and want it removed, our DMCA process is the fastest route and we act on valid notices promptly.

We are not owned by, affiliated with or paid by any publisher, streaming service or studio. If that ever changes — a sponsored article, an affiliate arrangement, a paid placement — it will be labelled clearly on the page it appears on. Affiliate links, where present, are disclosed at the point of use and never affect what we choose to cover.
