Bleach Vol. 53

Rukia restores Ichigo’s Soul Reaper powers using a sword infused with spiritual energy contributed by the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. Renji Abarai, Byakuya Kuchiki, Tōshirō Hitsugaya, Kenpachi Zaraki, and Ikkaku Madarame arrive to support him. Soul Society’s intervention demonstrates its trust in Ichigo, while Hitsugaya reveals that Ginjō was the first Substitute Soul Reaper.

After Ichigo overwhelms Ginjō’s initial form, Ginjō distributes portions of the stolen Fullbring among Xcution’s members. Yukio Hans Vorarlberna separates the combatants into isolated virtual arenas, creating individual battles between the Fullbringers and Soul Reapers. Kenpachi immediately kills Giriko Kutsuzawa, while Ikkaku defeats Moe Shishigawara through endurance and determination.

Renji defeats Jackie Tristan, but she destroys their arena to save him from being trapped. Hitsugaya outmaneuvers Yukio and forces him to begin releasing the other combatants. Elsewhere, Byakuya confronts Shūkurō Tsukishima, whose Book of the End allows him to insert himself into the history of anything he cuts, while Rukia battles Riruka Dokugamine inside another sealed space.
