Ichigo’s attack wounds Aizen, but the Hōgyoku embedded within Aizen’s body immediately restores him. Aizen claims that he orchestrated Ichigo’s major battles from the moment he encountered Rukia Kuchiki, using each opponent to encourage his growth. Before he can explain what he knows about Ichigo’s origins, Isshin Kurosaki arrives and removes his son from the confrontation. Isshin offers to explain the truth, but Ichigo chooses to trust that his father will speak when ready.

Isshin engages Aizen while Ichigo battles Gin, who demonstrates the immense speed and range of Kamishini no Yari. Aizen explains that the Hōgyoku’s true ability is to perceive and manifest the desires of those around it, and his body begins evolving beyond the limits separating Soul Reapers and Hollows.

Kisuke Urahara and Yoruichi Shihōin join Isshin in a coordinated attack, combining Kidō, specialized equipment, and close combat against Aizen. Their efforts inflict damage but cannot prevent his transformation, as the Hōgyoku repeatedly restores and advances him. Elsewhere, the wounded Rangiku Matsumoto moves toward Gin.
