Ichigo continues training against Jackie Tristan, whose Dirty Boots Fullbring grows stronger as her boots become increasingly stained. He learns Bringer Light, a high-speed movement technique created by drawing upon the soul of the ground beneath him, and begins gaining control over the power emerging from his Substitute Soul Reaper badge. Before their battle can conclude, Tsukishima invades Xcution’s headquarters and destroys the aquarium containing them.

Ichigo rescues Jackie and emerges with a more advanced Fullbring resembling the robes of his former Soul Reaper form. Ginjō prevents him from fighting Tsukishima prematurely, while Yasutora Sado confronts the intruder and confirms that Tsukishima’s Book of the End can cut through nearly anything. Tsukishima withdraws after demonstrating that he can reach Ichigo whenever he chooses.

Xcution relocates Ichigo’s training into a virtual environment created by Yukio Hans Vorarlberna. Ginjō becomes Ichigo’s opponent and pushes him through a severe combat exercise, eventually blinding him to force greater reliance on spiritual perception. Under this pressure, Ichigo begins sensing spiritual energy again and moves closer to completing his Fullbring.
