Tōshirō Hitsugaya uses the completed form of Hyōten Hyakkasō to imprison Tier Harribel within a massive pillar of ice, while Soi Fon fires her Bankai at Baraggan Louisenbairn. Elsewhere, Coyote Starrk releases Los Lobos by merging with Lilynette Gingerbuck, transforming them into a single combatant armed with twin pistols capable of firing rapid Cero blasts. Jūshirō Ukitake joins Shunsui Kyōraku and counters Starrk’s attacks with Sōgyo no Kotowari.

The apparent progress of the Soul Reapers is interrupted when Wonderweiss Margela arrives alongside the enormous Hollow Hooleer. Wonderweiss wounds Ukitake, Starrk shoots Kyōraku, and Hooleer disperses the flames imprisoning Aizen, Gin Ichimaru, and Kaname Tōsen. Harribel is also freed from Hitsugaya’s ice.

Before Aizen’s forces can capitalize on the reversal, the Visored arrive at the battlefield. Shinji Hirako declares that they have come as Aizen’s enemies rather than Soul Society’s allies, and the group divides among the remaining battles. Their intervention renews the defense of Karakura Town and places former comrades and enemies on the same side against Aizen.
