Kira and Hisagi continue defending two of the four pillars sustaining the replica of Karakura Town. Kira uses Wabisuke’s weight-doubling ability to overcome Avirama Redder, while Hisagi initially resists drawing his Zanpakutō against Findorr Calius. When Findorr releases Pinza Aguda and threatens the pillar, Hisagi reveals Kazeshini and defeats him, explaining that a warrior who does not fear his own weapon is unworthy of wielding it.

Elsewhere, Choe Neng Poww defeats Ikkaku, whose refusal to reveal his Bankai allows the Arrancar to destroy one of the pillars. Tetsuzaemon Iba prevents the real town from returning, then condemns Ikkaku for placing personal pride above his assigned duty. Poww releases Calderón, but Sajin Komamura overwhelms him with Bankai and restores the Soul Reapers’ defensive position.

With Baraggan’s four attackers defeated, the three highest-ranking Espada and their Fracción enter the battle. Tier Harribel confronts Tōshirō Hitsugaya, while her attendants surround Rangiku Matsumoto. Soi Fon and Marechiyo Ōmaeda face Baraggan’s remaining Fracción as the wider confrontation begins.
