With Kaido defeated and Wano saved, it is time for Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew to depart on their next adventure. Major changes are unfolding throughout the world, however, including the rise of new Emperors of the Sea and the emergence of organizations capable of challenging the established balance of power.
As the alliance separates and the Straw Hats leave Wano behind, events involving the Marines, the Seven Warlords’ former territories, and the Revolutionary Army signal the beginning of a turbulent new era. The crew’s voyage soon brings them to a mysterious island defined by futuristic technology and connected to the World Government’s greatest scientific mind.
The Straw Hat Pirates prepare to leave Wano as Kozuki Momonosuke, Kin’emon, and Yamato confront the reality of the crew’s departure. Luffy gives Momonosuke a Straw Hat flag as a symbol of friendship and protection before the Straw Hats, Heart Pirates, and Kid Pirates follow separate routes. Elsewhere, the newly established Cross Guild places bounties on Marines, while Buggy is publicly credited with commanding Dracule Mihawk and Crocodile.
Global upheaval continues as Marshall D. Teach attacks Amazon Lily, where the Marines deploy their new Seraphim weapons. Luffy reveals the still-unspoken dream he hopes to achieve after becoming Pirate King, while the kingdom of Lulusia is erased following Sabo’s attempt to contact the Revolutionary Army.
The Straw Hats arrive near Egghead, the technologically advanced island of Dr. Vegapunk. After the crew is divided, its members encounter several bodies used by the scientist as independent satellites. Meanwhile, Teach ambushes Trafalgar Law, and CP0 is assigned to eliminate Vegapunk, connecting the island’s mysteries to an approaching World Government operation.
