I Am Oden, And I Was Born To Boil

Oden and Amatsuki Toki start a family while sailing with Edward Newgate, but Orochi uses deception and the powers of two elderly Kurozumi conspirators to seize control of Wano. After the Whitebeard Pirates encounter Roger's crew, Oden temporarily joins the Roger Pirates. His ability to read Poneglyphs helps them reach Laugh Tale, where Roger learns the truth of the Void Century and becomes the Pirate King.

Returning to Wano, Oden discovers that Orochi and Kaido have transformed the country through exploitation and violence. To protect Wano's citizens from immediate retaliation, Oden accepts a humiliating agreement and publicly dances for five years. When Orochi breaks his promise, Oden and the Nine Red Scabbards attack Kaido, but deception turns the battle against them.

Oden and his retainers are sentenced to execution by boiling. He holds the Scabbards above the oil for an hour, enabling their escape before dying and entrusting them with opening Wano's borders. In the present, the alliance's missing ships and forces reappear, and Kanjuro reveals himself as Orochi's informant as Monkey D. Luffy, Trafalgar Law, and Eustass Kid begin the assault on Onigashima.
