Thanks to some dirty tricks, the Vinsmokes have Sanji trapped. With his crewmate forced toward a political marriage, Monkey D. Luffy fights through some of Big Mom's strongest officers to reach him.
As the secrets of Sanji's childhood come to light, his reunion with Luffy becomes a painful confrontation. Meanwhile, Brook and Pedro infiltrate Whole Cake Chateau in search of Big Mom's Road Poneglyph.
Sanji clashes with his brothers after Niji attacks the Germa Kingdom's head chef, Cosette. Judge reinforces Sanji's captivity by threatening Zeff, while Yonji reveals that Germa 66's soldiers are mass-produced clones. Sanji's childhood memories show Judge imprisoning him as a failed experiment, his mother encouraging his love of cooking, and Vinsmoke Reiju helping him escape to the East Blue.
In the Seducing Woods, Luffy defeats Charlotte Cracker by combining Gear Four: Tankman with the enormous quantity of biscuit soldiers he has eaten. He and Nami then encounter Sanji's carriage, but Sanji attacks Luffy to protect his friends from his family's threats. Luffy refuses to retaliate and vows to remain without eating until Sanji returns.
Big Mom's enraged forces subsequently defeat and capture Luffy and Nami. Elsewhere, Chopper and Carrot begin exploiting Brûlée's Mirror-Mirror Fruit, while Brook enters the Room of Treasure to copy the Road Poneglyphs. Sanji sincerely proposes to Pudding, unaware that she later visits the imprisoned Straw Hats and privately reveals intentions that leave Luffy horrified.
