Reiju Vinsmoke

Reiju is calm, observant and outwardly compliant. She understands her father’s cruelty but has been genetically modified so that she cannot openly defy his commands. Within those limits, she finds indirect ways to help people whom Germa would otherwise discard.

She shares her mother’s capacity for compassion and privately rejects the family’s belief that kindness is weakness. Reiju nevertheless carries guilt for participating in Germa’s system and initially accepts the prospect of dying with the organization as punishment for its crimes.

Her composure extends to dangerous situations. She can analyze poisons, political traps and family tensions without panicking, though her emotional restraint breaks when Sanji’s safety or their mother’s sacrifice is involved.

Reiju’s genetically modified body grants superhuman strength, durability and rapid recovery. Like her brothers, she uses a technologically advanced Raid Suit that enhances mobility, permits sustained flight and provides protection in combat.

Her defining ability is poison absorption. Reiju can draw toxins from another person through mouth-to-mouth contact, consume them and metabolize them without harm. She saves Monkey D. Luffy after he ingests an otherwise lethal dose of poison and can also use absorbed toxins offensively.

As Poison Pink, she employs poison-based attacks in combination with kicks and aerial movement. The manga has not identified a Devil Fruit as the source of these abilities; they are associated with her biological modifications.

Reiju is also knowledgeable about toxicology and Germa technology. She recognizes severe poisoning quickly and understands the design and purpose of the family’s clone army and enhancement program.

Reiju first appears when Germa’s mobile kingdom encounters the Thousand Sunny near Totto Land. She removes the poison from Luffy and directs the Straw Hats toward Whole Cake Island before returning to preparations for Sanji’s political marriage.

Through Sanji’s memories, Reiju is revealed as the sibling who treated him with sympathy during their childhood. She tended his injuries, helped him escape confinement and enabled him to flee Germa, even though she sometimes laughed with their brothers to conceal her disobedience.

On Whole Cake Island, Reiju discovers that Charlotte Pudding and the Big Mom Pirates intend to assassinate the Vinsmoke family during the wedding. Pudding shoots her and alters her memory, but Sanji learns the truth and later confronts Reiju. Reiju urges him to escape rather than save Germa, only for Sanji and the Straw Hat–Fire Tank alliance to prevent the massacre.

Reiju fights beside Germa 66 during the escape from Totto Land. She later participates in the operation that frees her captured brothers from the Big Mom Pirates, as depicted in the Germa cover story.

Sanji is the brother to whom Reiju feels closest. She protects him from their brothers, facilitates his childhood escape and assures him that retaining his humanity was not a failure.

Vinsmoke Sora is Reiju’s mother and moral influence. Reiju understands that Vinsmoke Judge’s experiments caused Sora’s fatal illness and recognizes Sanji’s compassion as the result Sora sacrificed herself to preserve.

Judge is Reiju’s father and commander. She sees through his ambitions and condemns his treatment of Sanji, but her modifications limit her ability to disobey him directly.

Vinsmoke Ichiji, Vinsmoke Niji and Vinsmoke Yonji are her younger brothers and fellow Germa commanders. Reiju shares their enhanced physiology but not their lack of empathy.

Pudding attempts to kill Reiju and erase her memory as part of the wedding conspiracy. Luffy first encounters Reiju as a rescuer, while Nami distrusts her until her concern for Sanji becomes clear.
