Sanji

Sanji is the chain-smoking chef of the Straw Hat Pirate Crew in One Piece. Renowned for his world-class cooking and his leg-based fighting style, he was mentored in both disciplines by Chef "Red Leg" Zeff of the Baratie. Sanji's life is defined by two consuming passions: an artisan's devotion to food and a chivalrous, often comically excessive, devotion to women.

Sanji fights using an array of powerful and varied kicking moves, restricting himself to attacks with his legs in order to protect his hands and preserve his ability to cook. His fighting skills were taught to him by Zeff of the Baratie, alongside his culinary training.

Sanji is trash-talking, serious, and usually gruff and impatient, particularly around men. This contrasts sharply with his "love-cook" persona, in which he becomes intensely amorous and loses all common sense and composure around beautiful women, comically attempting to woo them. He has sworn never to allow insult or injury to come to any woman while he can still stand, even one attacking him, which can complicate his fighting since he refuses to strike female opponents and would rather be hurt himself. This behavior is described as stemming from a "strict upbringing."

Sanji holds great respect for the tools, ingredients, and art of cooking. His life goal is to find the All Blue, a legendary ocean said to contain all the fish in the world, which would be a paradise for a cook of his dedication. So strong is his devotion to his calling that he refuses to let any person or creature go hungry, regardless of whether they are friend or foe. As the crew's chef, he also looks after the health and wellbeing of his crewmates.

Sanji respects Luffy as captain but frequently grows angry with him over his gluttony, disrespect for the aesthetics of cooking, and generally irresponsible behavior. He maintains a petty, ongoing rivalry with Zoro (whom he sometimes calls "Marimo"), trading barbs and insults, though the two have developed a formidable teamwork in battle. He is fiercely protective of the female crew members, and Nami is known to take advantage of his servility toward her. Sanji originally intended to cook Chopper, but came to respect him as both a crew member and a friend. He is also good friends with Usopp, with whom he frequently teams up and interacts, understanding him well.
