Surrounded by the forces of Big Mom, the rescue party must navigate a living forest, uncover the plans of the Vinsmoke Family, and survive long enough to reach their crewmate.
Charlotte Pudding explains that Charlotte Linlin has built her political power through strategic marriages involving her numerous children, and she offers to help the Straw Hats reunite with Sanji. Elsewhere, Big Mom's uncontrollable craving for croquembouche causes widespread destruction until Jinbe calms her and asks permission to leave her crew. The rescue party reaches Whole Cake Island, where Brook and Pedro separate from the group to locate Big Mom's Road Poneglyph.
Luffy, Nami, Tony Tony Chopper, and Carrot become trapped in the Seducing Woods, whose living terrain and deceptive inhabitants prevent their escape. There they encounter Charlotte Brûlée, the enormous Pound, and Sweet General Charlotte Cracker, who reveals that Big Mom's soul-based powers animate much of Totto Land.
At the Germa Kingdom, Sanji reunites with his estranged father and brothers. His childhood is shown to have been defined by his family's contempt for his compassion and lack of enhanced strength. After Vinsmoke Judge defeats him and threatens the people of the Baratie, Sanji is forced to cooperate with the wedding while Luffy begins battling Cracker and his seemingly endless army of biscuit soldiers.
