Synopsis
Shohoku point guard Ryota Miyagi takes center stage as his team confronts reigning national champion Sannoh Industry at the Inter-High tournament. The closely contested game reunites Ryota with Hanamichi Sakuragi, Kaede Rukawa, Hisashi Mitsui, and captain Takenori Akagi, each of whom must respond to Sannoh's disciplined defense and exceptional individual talent.
Interwoven flashbacks explore Ryota's childhood in Okinawa, his relationship with his older brother, and the grief carried by the Miyagi family. The film adapts the manga's climactic Shohoku–Sannoh match while adding a substantial character narrative written around Ryota, making it both a continuation of the national-tournament story and an accessible reinterpretation of one of the series' defining games.
