The Straw Hat crew is the only force standing between the New Fish-Man Pirates and complete control of Fish-Man Island. As Hody Jones puts his destructive plan into action, Monkey D. Luffy must confront him beneath the ocean, where a fish-man possesses an overwhelming natural advantage.
Although Luffy has grown considerably stronger through his training, defeating Hody is only part of the challenge. The enormous ark Noah is falling toward Fish-Man Island, placing the entire undersea kingdom in danger.
As the Straw Hat Pirates battle the officers of the New Fish-Man Pirates, the ancient ark Noah continues following Shirahoshi toward Fish-Man Island. Luffy pursues the ship with assistance from Sanji and Fukaboshi, while Hody Jones attacks both the princess and the citizens attempting to slow Noah's descent. Hody then betrays Vander Decken IX, leaving him unconscious and causing the ark to begin falling directly toward the island.
Fukaboshi realizes that Hody's hatred was not created by any personal experience with humans; it was inherited from the resentment surrounding him. Luffy defeats Hody despite fighting underwater, while the remaining Straw Hats overwhelm the New Fish-Man Pirates' officers and demonstrate the full results of their two-year training.
With Hody defeated but Noah still descending, Luffy enters the ark's air-filled bubble and begins destroying the vessel before it can crush Fish-Man Island. His injuries worsen as he continues attacking the enormous ship, while Shirahoshi and the island's inhabitants watch their fate depend upon his ability to reduce Noah to nothing.
