The full plan to take down Big Mom is finally revealed, but Monkey D. Luffy's team faces a tremendous challenge. The Straw Hats must cooperate with allies they do not fully trust while preparing to crash the largest wedding in the pirate world.
As the ceremony begins, the conspirators put their assassination strategy into motion amid the assembled Charlotte Family, Germa 66, and powerful guests from the Underworld. Their attack also exposes the traumatic childhood that shaped Charlotte Linlin into one of the Four Emperors.
Capone Bege explains that Big Mom becomes vulnerable whenever the photograph of Mother Carmel is damaged. The alliance plans to destroy it during the wedding, use Caesar's poison-gas launchers against the incapacitated Emperor, and escape through Brûlée's mirrors. At the ceremony, Sanji's unexpected kindness overwhelms Charlotte Pudding, disrupting her assigned role, while Luffy's duplicates erupt from the wedding cake and throw the celebration into chaos.
Brook destroys Carmel's photograph, and Sanji frees the Vinsmokes before they can be executed. Big Mom's distress triggers memories of her childhood on Elbaf, where Carmel took in the abandoned Linlin. Linlin's immense strength and uncontrollable hunger culminated in the destruction of a giant village and the death of one of its elders.
The flashback reveals Carmel as an orphan trafficker who intended to sell Linlin to the World Government. After Carmel and the other children mysteriously disappeared during Linlin's sixth-birthday feast, Streusen encouraged the child to become a pirate. In the present, Bege's launchers fail when Big Mom's scream destroys them, forcing the alliance and the rescued Vinsmokes to retreat inside Bege's fortress body.
