When the crew finally returns to Sabaody Archipelago, they discover that their reputation has attracted impostors, ambitious rookie pirates, and renewed attention from the Navy.
With each member transformed by the time apart, the Straw Hats must reunite, evade their pursuers, and resume the voyage they were forced to abandon. Their next destination lies beneath the sea, along the perilous route to Fish-Man Island and the New World beyond.
The Straw Hat Pirates spend two years developing their abilities in preparation for the New World. Luffy trains under Silvers Rayleigh and learns the three forms of Haki, while his crewmates pursue specialized training throughout the world. When the appointed day arrives, they independently return to Sabaody Archipelago with new skills, altered appearances, and a clearer understanding of the challenges ahead.
Their reunion is complicated by a band of impostors led by Demalo Black, who exploits the Straw Hats' reputation to recruit powerful pirates. The deception draws the attention of the Navy, which deploys Sentoumaru and Pacifista units against the assembled outlaws. The real Straw Hats expose the impostors and effortlessly demonstrate the results of their training while escaping the island.
Reunited aboard the Thousand Sunny, the crew receives assistance from Rayleigh, Shakuyaku, and other allies who protected their ship during their absence. The vessel is coated for underwater travel, allowing the Straw Hats to descend beneath the Red Line and resume their journey toward Fish-Man Island.
