My Little Brother

The childhood of Luffy, Portogas D. Ace, and Sabo unfolds in the Goa Kingdom. After formalizing their brotherhood, the three boys continue preparing to become pirates, but Sabo's noble family forcibly returns him to High Town. He discovers that the kingdom intends to burn Gray Terminal before a visiting World Noble arrives. Although the Revolutionary Army saves many inhabitants, Sabo later attempts to sail away alone and is apparently killed when his boat is attacked by the visiting noble.

Ace and Luffy remain together under Curly Dadan's care, promising to live without regrets. In the present, Luffy initially believes that Ace's death has left him with nothing, but Jinbe reminds him that the Straw Hat crew still remains. Luffy resolves to reunite with his companions, only for Silvers Rayleigh to propose a different plan.

Luffy, Rayleigh, and Jinbe return briefly to Marineford and perform a series of conspicuous actions that appear in newspapers worldwide. The separated Straw Hats recognize a hidden message within Luffy's behavior and abandon their immediate attempts to reunite, instead preparing themselves for a delayed return to Sabaody Archipelago.
