Chaos erupts during Orochi's banquet when Komurasaki openly defies the shogun to protect Toko. Kyoshiro appears to strike Komurasaki down, allowing her to secretly escape, while Robin, Nami, Brook, and Sanji narrowly flee the palace. Elsewhere, Big Mom arrives at Udon Prison with no memory of her identity, inadvertently creating new complications for both Queen and the Beast Pirates.

Within the Udon Prisoner Mine, Luffy continues his imprisonment alongside Hyo, who begins teaching him the advanced application of Armament Haki needed to challenge Kaido. Meanwhile, Zoro encounters the mysterious monk Gyukimaru and later learns that the woman he rescued is Komurasaki herself, who reveals her true identity as Hiyori Kozuki. As Orochi intensifies his crackdown after deciphering the Kozuki rebellion's secret message, numerous allies are arrested across Wano.

The volume reaches its emotional climax with the capture and public execution of Shimotsuki Yasuie. By claiming responsibility for the Kozuki family's coded rebellion, Yasuie protects the alliance's plans at the cost of his own life, inspiring renewed resistance throughout Wano and exposing the tragic reason the citizens of Ebisu Town can only laugh even in the face of overwhelming grief.
