The returning Serpoians trap Momo, Okarun and Aira in a void and combine with their alien subordinates to create a stronger opponent. Once the battle ends, the group gains an unexpected extraterrestrial acquaintance, while the arrival of Momo’s unusually handsome childhood friend introduces a new source of jealousy—and another haunted location.
The Serpoians overwhelm Momo, Okarun and Aira by merging with Mr. Mantis Shrimp and Nessie. Working as a team, the students exploit the hybrid’s limitations and escape the dimensional space. Momo later helps the injured Mr. Mantis Shrimp, learning that he fights to afford treatment for his son, Chiquitita.
Normal school life proves equally complicated when Jin Enjoji, Momo’s childhood friend and first crush, arrives at the Ayase home. Known as Jiji, he asks Seiko to investigate the apparitions tormenting his family. Momo and Okarun accompany him to a hot-spring town, where his remote house conceals a far older supernatural threat.
