Okarun, Momo and Jiji travel to a hot-spring town to investigate the entities haunting Jiji’s family. Their search brings them into conflict with the Kito family, the landlords of Jiji’s home, whose influence extends into the local police and whose worship of a giant serpent conceals the village’s disturbing history.
At Jiji’s remote family home, Momo Ayase encounters hostile men at the hot springs while Ken Takakura and Jin Enjoji discover a hidden room covered in protective talismans. The property’s landlords, the Kito family, capture the teenagers and reveal that their clan has offered human sacrifices to a giant subterranean serpent for generations.
Momo escapes with help from Manjiro, a local priest trained by Seiko, while Okarun and Jiji fall into a vast underground chamber. There they encounter the spirit of a sacrificed child—the source of the Evil Eye that has tormented Jiji—and begin uncovering the truth behind the village’s supposed volcano god.
