With the alien invasion defeated, Okarun and his friends establish a research club dedicated to recovering his remaining golden ball. Their assigned adviser, Mr. Sanjome, immediately seems suspicious because nobody can clearly remember meeting him, while Okarun’s class representative reveals that finding the golden ball has awakened a supernatural attachment of her own.
The group creates a History and Culture Research Club as cover for its paranormal investigations. Its adviser, Count Saint-Germain, assumes the identity of Mr. Sanjome, though his strange effect on memory makes his arrival difficult to question.
Meanwhile, Rin Sawaki confides that she found Okarun’s golden ball and has since perceived him as a handsome vampire. A spirit called the Onbusuman is attached to her back, growing from the guilt surrounding her childhood friend Mai Kawabanga. Momo and the others stage an exorcism amid manifestations of Rin’s memories. Mai ultimately becomes Rin’s guardian spirit and insists that her surviving friend pursue their abandoned dream of becoming idols.
