The conflict shifts to the fateful relationship between IGO president Ichiryu and Gourmet Corp. leader Midora, former brothers who now face one another in mortal combat. Their battle leads into the history of Acacia, Froese and the three disciples whose shared life during the Gourmet War shaped the modern gourmet world.
Jiro clashes with Joie at Cooking Stadium, but their confrontation is interrupted when Starjun escapes with the unconscious Komatsu. Far away in the Gourmet World, Ichiryu and Midora begin their long-awaited battle. Ichiryu’s Minority World manipulates the smallest opposing forces within matter, while Midora’s appetite and tongue techniques continually adapt to the assault.
The narrative then returns to the Gourmet War centuries earlier. Froese rescues a starving young Midora and raises him alongside Ichiryu and Jiro under Acacia. Their peaceful family life ends when Acacia and Froese depart to complete the legendary Full Course capable of stopping the war. Froese returns fatally weakened, and her final act of love leaves Midora permanently transformed by grief.
