Acacia

The historical Acacia is remembered as wise, adventurous, generous, and deeply interested in both the scientific and spiritual aspects of food. He sees eating as inseparable from life, death, gratitude, and the natural circulation through which one organism sustains another.

He cares strongly for Froese and for the young men who become his disciples. Acacia recognizes their different temperaments and trains them accordingly, including restraining Jiro's overwhelming physical nature while teaching him techniques that allow his strength to be controlled.

Acacia is also highly secretive. Even people closest to him do not receive a complete explanation of his research, Gourmet World's mysteries, or his pursuit of GOD. Many of his decisions are made on a scale spanning generations, making his motives difficult for later characters to interpret correctly.

Later revelations deliberately present Acacia as cruel, manipulative, and consumed by appetite before revealing that much of this behavior is part of a larger attempt to provoke Toriko and the others into destroying Neo.

Acacia is regarded as the greatest Gourmet Hunter in history. His exploration of Gourmet World, ability to hear the voices of ingredients, biological knowledge, and survival ability allow him to discover ingredients inaccessible even to legendary hunters.

He is also an extraordinary master of Knocking. His technical understanding is comparable to, and in some contexts surpasses, Jiro's, reflecting the fact that Acacia was one of the people who originally taught Jiro how to control his overwhelming abilities.

Acacia possesses Gourmet Cells and enormous physical power. His speed, perception, durability, and attack power reach levels capable of contending with the strongest organisms on Earth.

After his later transformations, Acacia is assigned a Capture Level of roughly 8,000 after separation from Neo and approximately 30,000 after consuming Neo, placing him among the most powerful beings shown on Earth.

His body can survive and evolve through consuming extraordinarily powerful ingredients, including GOD and CENTER, while Neo's appetite grants increasingly extreme abilities to consume energy, attacks, and living beings.

Centuries before Toriko's era, Acacia discovers the Gourmet Jellyfish and identifies the regenerative cells later known as Gourmet Cells. The discovery transforms humanity's relationship with food, biology, and strength.

His pursuit of GOD eventually intersects with a devastating global war. Acacia obtains the ingredient and distributes it among the world's leaders, using its incomparable flavor to stop the conflict and usher in the Gourmet Age.

Together with Froese, he raises and teaches Ichiryu, Jiro, and Midora. Their radically different paths later shape the IGO, Gourmet Corp., and the broader struggle over the ingredients of Acacia's Full Course.

Acacia leaves behind a Full Course whose components—including AIR, PAIR, ANOTHER, NEWS, EARTH, ATOM, CENTER, and GOD—become central objectives in the Gourmet World.

The later Gourmet World conflict reveals that Acacia remained involved in events far beyond the historical period in which most people believed his life had ended. His relationship with the Appetite Demon Neo, the Blue Nitro, and the preparation of Earth itself becomes central to the final struggle.

Acacia ultimately reveals that his apparent descent into monstrous selfishness was intended to generate genuine rage powerful enough to help destroy Neo. His plan requires him to become an enemy even to the family he once protected.

Froese is Acacia's combo partner and the person with whom he shares his deepest personal bond.

Ichiryu, Jiro, and Midora are Acacia's three famous disciples and adoptive sons.

Toriko becomes central to Acacia's ultimate plan and is later revealed to be his biological son.

Starjun is Toriko's twin brother and therefore also Acacia's biological son.

Teppei is connected to Acacia through Jiro and the wider family created around Acacia and Froese.

Neo is Acacia's Appetite Demon and the being around which much of his hidden long-term plan is constructed.

PAIR and the other Blue Nitro interact with Acacia through the ancient effort to prepare Earth and control Neo.
