The Fourth Great Ninja War begins as the Allied Shinobi Forces mobilize against Akatsuki’s army. Shinobi from historically hostile villages must set aside old grudges and fight beneath a single command, while Gaara delivers a plea for unity founded on their shared determination to protect Naruto Uzumaki.

Their enemy possesses more than an army of White Zetsu. Kabuto Yakushi deploys the Reanimation Jutsu, forcing the alliance to battle legendary warriors, former enemies, and deceased loved ones whose bodies have been transformed into immortal weapons.

Kabuto reveals the scale of his Reanimation Jutsu by summoning numerous deceased shinobi, including former Kage, jinchūriki, kekkei genkai users, and past members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. Akatsuki combines these resurrected fighters with an enormous White Zetsu army, while the Allied Shinobi Forces divide into specialized combat divisions.

Tensions initially emerge among shinobi from rival villages, but Gaara addresses the entire army and reminds them that Naruto changed him from an isolated weapon into someone willing to protect others. His speech unites the alliance, and its divisions advance toward their assigned battlefields.

The alliance’s commando unit encounters Kabuto’s own surprise-attack force, bringing Kankurō into conflict with the resurrected Sasori and Deidara. Kankurō helps Sasori recognize that his art and spirit endure through the puppets he created, releasing him from the technique. Elsewhere, Kakashi Hatake’s division faces Zabuza Momochi, Haku, and the revived Seven Ninja Swordsmen, beginning another major battle.
