Naruto Vol. 52

Naruto arrives before Sasuke can kill Sakura and once again tries to understand his former teammate. Sasuke rejects Konoha and declares his intention to destroy the village, while Naruto acknowledges that their next battle may kill them both. Tobi withdraws with Sasuke, who requests Itachi’s eyes after the strain of using the Mangekyō Sharingan begins destroying his sight. Team 7 returns to Konoha with Karin as a prisoner.

The hidden villages organize the Allied Shinobi Forces in preparation for war. Tsunade awakens from her coma and resumes her position as Hokage, agreeing with the other Kage that Naruto and Killer B must be concealed from Akatsuki.

Naruto is sent to a remote island under the pretense of studying its wildlife. Killer B initially refuses to train him, but Naruto proceeds to the Waterfall of Truth, where he encounters a manifestation of his suppressed anger. After accepting rather than rejecting this darker self, Naruto learns more about B’s past and prepares to confront the Nine-Tails directly.
