Toriko accepts a commission to capture the rare Puffer Whale, an ingredient whose lethal poison makes its preparation almost impossible. He turns to fellow Gourmet Hunter Coco, whose unusual abilities may give the expedition a chance of succeeding before rival hunters claim the prize.
Quick Facts
Toriko and Komatsu seek Coco’s assistance in capturing the elusive Puffer Whale. Coco’s poisonous body, exceptional eyesight and ability to perceive electromagnetic auras make him uniquely suited to navigating the dangerous journey. After some persuasion, he joins the expedition with his companion Kiss.
The group travels through a cavern leading to the whale’s spawning grounds, where numerous Gourmet Hunters compete for the valuable ingredient. Their path is threatened by deadly wildlife and the cavern’s disorienting atmosphere. Toriko’s party ultimately reaches the beach, but capturing the whales without frightening them—and safely removing their poison sacs—presents an even greater challenge.
