Gojo and Geto protect Riko through repeated assassination attempts, allowing her to enjoy a brief period of normal life before the merger with Tengen. After rescuing Kuroi, the group returns to Jujutsu High, believing the mission nearly complete.
Their confidence proves fatal when Toji Fushiguro ambushes the exhausted Gojo. Exploiting careful preparation and cursed tools, Toji seemingly kills Gojo before defeating Geto and assassinating Riko Amanai. His actions fundamentally alter the futures of both Gojo and Geto.
