Unable to accept Nanami's and Nobara's apparent deaths, Yuji briefly succumbs to despair until Aoi Todo arrives to remind him of his responsibilities as a jujutsu sorcerer. Fighting together once more, Yuji and Todo push Mahito into evolving beyond his previous limits as both sides repeatedly adapt during the battle.
After Mahito unveils his Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing, Yuji defeats him with Todo's assistance. Before Yuji can exorcise the weakened curse, Geto appears, absorbs Mahito using Cursed Spirit Manipulation, and reveals that the figure wearing Suguru Geto's body is someone entirely different.
