Akane uses her opening performance to challenge Rien indirectly, winning over the audience while demonstrating her confidence as a newcomer. Karashi nevertheless recognizes that her technically crisp rakugo can feel overly calculated, giving Akane another limitation to confront as her initial backstage training concludes.

Her next assignment places her in the demanding world of professional etiquette and hospitality. Akane observes the commanding presence of celebrated storyteller Urara Ransaika and learns that a rakugoka’s reputation is built both onstage and behind the scenes. When the narrow range of her repertoire becomes impossible to ignore, she seeks instruction that will broaden her expressive abilities.
