Akane-banashi Vol. 15

Following the solo performance, Shiguma acknowledges Akane’s progress but presents the seemingly impossible challenge of mastering “Shiguma’s Art.” Before she can pursue it, his failing health creates a crisis for the entire school. The Arakawa organization dissolves Shiguma’s branch, separating his disciples and placing Akane under Issho’s authority.

Seeking to understand the forces behind this upheaval, Akane hears about Issho and Shiguma’s impoverished youth. Long before they became eminent masters, the pair survived through odd jobs and street fights. Their direction changed when they encountered Kiroku Kashiwaya, the previous bearer of the Shiguma name, whose performance offered them a path out of their chaotic lives.
