Synopsis
The Straw Hat Pirates become entangled in the search for a legendary fortune accumulated by the Great Gold Pirate Woonan. Their pursuit brings Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Nami, and Usopp into conflict with the gold-obsessed pirate Eldoraggo, who possesses a map pointing toward Woonan’s hidden island.
The self-contained story uses the Straw Hats’ early East Blue lineup and fits most closely between the Syrup Village and Baratie arcs, although it is not part of the manga’s continuity. The film is notable as the franchise’s first theatrical feature and for framing its treasure hunt around the different meanings that wealth, adventure, food, and friendship hold for pirates and ordinary travelers.
