Synopsis

Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Rock Lee and Kakashi Hatake are assigned to protect Michiru Tsuki, the affluent prince of the Land of the Moon, and his son Hikaru Tsuki during their journey home. The mission initially appears routine despite the royal family’s extravagant behavior, including Michiru’s impulsive purchase of an entire traveling circus.

Upon reaching the Crescent Moon Kingdom, the group discovers that a political coup has displaced the rightful monarch. Team Kakashi must consequently protect the princes while confronting mercenary ninja supporting the new regime. The third film is an anime-original adventure set late in the original series, after Rock Lee has returned to active duty.

Toshiyuki Tsuru served as both director and screenwriter after previously directing numerous episodes of the television anime.
The movie was the third and final theatrical feature based on the pre-timeskip Naruto series.
