Synopsis
Gintoki Sakata meets Seita, an orphan who survives by stealing while searching for his long-lost mother. Believing that Yoshiwara’s celebrated courtesan Hinowa may be the woman he seeks, Seita leads the Yorozuya into the vast underground district where daylight never reaches.
Yoshiwara is controlled by Hosen, a legendary Yato warrior whose authority is enforced through overwhelming strength. Gintoki, Kagura, Shinpachi Shimura, and the Hyakka leader Tsukuyo become embroiled in a struggle over Hinowa’s freedom, while Kamui and the Harusame’s Seventh Division pursue their own interests.
The film is a newly animated adaptation of the Yoshiwara in Flames Arc, previously covered by television episodes 139–146. It expands the original story with new scenes and participants, presenting the conflict in a CinemaScope format rather than reusing television animation.
