Synopsis

While confronting an illegal recorder inside a cinema, Gintoki Sakata is transported five years into a devastated future. Edo has been ravaged by the White Curse, the Yorozuya has disbanded, and older versions of Kagura and Shinpachi Shimura have followed separate paths.

Unable to reveal his identity, Gintoki attempts to reunite his former companions and trace the catastrophe to its origin. The film tells an original time-travel story devised as a possible conclusion to the anime, combining apocalyptic drama with the franchise’s ensemble comedy and metafictional jokes.
