Tooru Onoda

Onoda receives little individual characterization. He is presented primarily as a member of Daimon's varsity rather than through a separate personal storyline, and the series does not establish enough about his life away from baseball for more specific traits.

Onoda plays right field for Seishuu's first-string team. His selection for Daimon's preferred varsity indicates that he meets the coach's standards for the players entrusted with representing the school.

No signature batting skill or exceptional defensive specialty is established for him. His role is primarily that of a regular outfielder within the complete varsity lineup.

Onoda appears during the period when Seishuu's baseball club has effectively been divided in two. Daimon controls the first-string team, while Sentarou Maeno works with the players relegated to the prefab field.

The two squads eventually meet directly, making Onoda one of the players whose performance is used to test Daimon's claim that his selected varsity is unquestionably superior.

The prefab team's eventual victory dismantles Daimon's control over the program, and Onoda does not become part of Seishuu's later regular lineup.

Shuugo Daimon is Onoda's coach on Seishuu's favored varsity and the person responsible for selecting the squad.

Yuuhei Azuma, Tatsumasa Miki, Noboru Kamikawa, Kinji Takizawa, Minoru Ishiguro, Yuuji Kubo, Keisuke Kishibe and Kazuo Ogura are among Onoda's teammates on the first-string squad.
