Kinji Takizawa

Takizawa receives little individual characterization outside baseball. He functions principally as the varsity catcher within Daimon's system rather than receiving a separate personal storyline.

His place in the starting battery nevertheless makes him one of the players most directly involved in executing Daimon's approach on the field.

Takizawa is a catcher and handles pitches from Kamikawa, the varsity's principal pitcher. The position requires him to receive, block and coordinate pitches while controlling the defensive action around home plate.

He bats sixth for the varsity. No distinctive hitting specialty or unusual catching technique is established for him.

Takizawa appears when the conflict between Seishuu's varsity and prefab squads develops into direct competition. He catches for Daimon's team while Kou, Akaishi, Nakanishi and the displaced upperclassmen attempt to prove that the coach's evaluation of them is wrong.

The prefab squad ultimately overturns Daimon's preferred baseball hierarchy. Takizawa is subsequently among the players who leave the Seishuu roster rather than becoming part of the later starting team.

Shuugo Daimon is Takizawa's coach and selects him for Seishuu's favored varsity.

Noboru Kamikawa is Takizawa's pitcher, making the two the principal battery for Daimon's team.

Yuuhei Azuma, Tatsumasa Miki, Minoru Ishiguro, Yuuji Kubo, Keisuke Kishibe, Kazuo Ogura and Tooru Onoda are among Takizawa's teammates on the same varsity squad.
