Keisuke Kishibe

Kishibe receives limited characterization outside baseball. He is principally defined through his ability and his membership in Daimon's recruited first string.

Unlike the coach himself, he is not given an extensive personal ideology about winning or player development. His role remains focused on executing his responsibilities as a shortstop and top-order hitter.

Kishibe was an ace pitcher and cleanup batter in middle school before playing shortstop at Seishuu. That background establishes substantial all-around baseball ability even though pitching is no longer his principal high-school position.

His bat speed is particularly notable. Aoba identifies his swing as the second fastest on Daimon's varsity and warns the prefab team against challenging him carelessly with high pitches. He also has useful speed on the bases.

At Seishuu, he bats third immediately ahead of cleanup hitter Yuuhei Azuma, giving the varsity a dangerous combination near the center of its order.

Kishibe belongs to the recruited group intended to replace Seishuu's existing baseball structure with a team capable of quickly reaching Koshien. He plays shortstop during the first varsity-versus-prefab game and gets on base against the supposedly inferior squad.

After Daimon's team loses the decisive rematch, Kishibe leaves Seishuu rather than joining Maeno's unified roster. He follows Daimon's baseball program to Kurokoma Jitsugyo.

Yuuhei Azuma bats immediately behind Kishibe in the original varsity order, creating a dangerous sequence of speed and power.

Aoba Tsukishima studies Kishibe's batting closely enough to identify his unusually fast swing and relay useful information about him to the prefab players.
