Toge Inumaki

Inumaki is quiet, compassionate, observant, and considerably more approachable than his unusual speech initially suggests. Because Cursed Speech can turn ordinary words into dangerous commands, he has deliberately spoken through harmless rice-ball ingredients for as long as he can remember. "Salmon" commonly communicates affirmation while "fish flakes" tends toward negation, though his friends learn to interpret a much broader range of meanings from tone and context.

He is particularly sensitive to making other people comfortable around him. Yuuta Okkotsu initially misreads Inumaki as intimidating because he cannot understand the restricted vocabulary, but their first mission together reveals that Inumaki is constantly considering Yuuta's safety and the civilians around them.

Despite his gentle demeanor, Inumaki becomes forceful immediately when a dangerous situation requires it. He does not hesitate to injure his own throat through repeated technique use if doing so gives allies time to escape or prevents a stronger curse from attacking.

Cursed Speech allows Inumaki to reinforce spoken words with cursed energy and compel anyone who hears them to obey. Commands such as "Stop," "Sleep," "Don't Move," "Get Crushed," and "Blast Away" can interrupt movement, incapacitate opponents, or inflict direct physical effects.

The technique's power depends on the relative strength between Inumaki and his target. Commands aimed at weak curses can be delivered with relatively little consequence, while forcing powerful opponents to obey can severely damage his throat, cause coughing, produce blood, or leave him temporarily unable to speak.

His restrictive everyday vocabulary is therefore a safety mechanism rather than an affectation. The Inumaki clan historically treats Cursed Speech as dangerous enough that avoiding unintended activation becomes part of learning to live with the technique.

Inumaki carries throat medicine and cough syrup to reduce the physical backlash from heavy technique use. He is also physically agile enough to operate independently as a semi-grade 1 sorcerer rather than functioning solely as a support specialist.

Inumaki first plays a substantial role in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 as one of Yuuta's classmates. A mission with Yuuta places the two inside a cursed barrier, where Inumaki demonstrates both Cursed Speech and the physical consequences of overusing it against numerous curses.

During Suguru Getou's Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, Inumaki fights alongside Panda and later returns to Tokyo Jujutsu High when Yuuta and Maki Zenin are threatened.

In the main story, he participates in the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event. When Hanami invades the event, Inumaki repeatedly commands the special-grade curse to stop or retreat, buying time for the students despite the severe strain placed on his throat.

He also assists during the Shibuya Incident by controlling groups of civilians and transfigured humans with Cursed Speech while other sorcerers move deeper into the operation.

The destruction caused during Sukuna's rampage in Shibuya costs Inumaki his left arm. He survives and later supports the plans surrounding the confrontation with Sukuna rather than returning immediately to frontline combat.

Near the final battle, a recorded use of Inumaki's Cursed Speech is incorporated into the sorcerers' strategy, briefly restricting Sukuna and creating an opening for Yuuta.

Yuuta Okkotsu becomes one of Inumaki's closest friends. Their first mission teaches Yuuta that Inumaki's limited speech hides an unusually considerate personality.

Maki Zenin is Inumaki's classmate and longtime teammate at Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Panda is another member of Inumaki's year and understands his unusual vocabulary particularly well.

Satoru Gojou is Inumaki's teacher and entrusts him with increasingly dangerous missions as his ability develops.

Yuuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki are his juniors at Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Hanami becomes one of the strongest opponents against whom Inumaki directly uses Cursed Speech during the Goodwill Event.
