Rika Noyamano

Rika is forceful, practical and protective. Supporting the household has made her accustomed to responsibility, and even the more aggressive members of the Noyamano family are wary of angering her. She readily applies her professional wrestling skills when Ikki or her sisters push her patience too far.

That severity comes from genuine concern for the family. Rika wants Ikki to have a normal future and is alarmed when he begins moving deeper into a culture she knows can become dangerous. Her initial opposition to his riding is therefore rooted less in contempt for Air Trecks than in personal experience with what lies behind the competitive world.

Her history with Sora Takeuchi also exposes a more affectionate side. The two were romantically involved during their youth, although events surrounding the original Sleeping Forest eventually separated them.

Rika follows the Sonia Road and formerly held the Thorn Regalia as Thorn Queen. The Road uses the rider's hip joints and extraordinary flexibility to produce sharp, whip-like changes of direction and attacks compared visually to growing thorns.

The Sonia Road places tremendous strain on the body. Its movements can cause nitrogen to accumulate in the rider's joints and require painful hyperventilation to sustain peak performance. Rika's professional wrestling conditioning complements the Road by giving her considerable strength and durability even without Air Trecks.

Her wrestling career also makes her formidable in ordinary close combat. She performs professionally as Destler Bartlett and can use throws, holds and strikes against opponents without depending on A-T equipment.

Rika later returns to high-level A-T combat under radically altered circumstances, once again wielding Thorn-class equipment after being subjected to Brain Charger technology.

Rika begins as the absent eldest sister whose return threatens Ikki's newly discovered freedom on Air Trecks. She attempts to discourage him from riding and eventually tests him directly, forcing him to demonstrate that his attraction to the sky is more than a passing rebellion.

Rika is revealed to have been the Thorn Queen of the original Sleeping Forest, riding alongside Sora, Kilik and the other first-generation Kings. Unlike most of that team, she was not a Gravity Child and did not initially understand the full significance of the Sky Regalia or Sora's plans for it.

Her relationship with Sora collapsed during the conflict that destroyed the original Sleeping Forest. Years later, Genesis forcibly draws her back into the struggle, and Brain Charger technology is used to alter her into a combatant serving Sora. She eventually faces Ikki and Ringo during the final conflict surrounding Trophaeum Tower.

Itsuki Minami is Rika's adopted younger brother. She helps raise and financially support him and initially tries to keep him away from the dangerous side of Air Trecks. Their clashes come from her protective instincts as much as her authority over the household.

Mikan Noyamano, Ringo Noyamano and Shiraume Noyamano are Rika's younger sisters, whom she supports through her professional wrestling career.

Sora Takeuchi was Rika's teammate and lover in the original Sleeping Forest. Their relationship breaks down during the conflict surrounding Sora's ambitions, and he later brings her under Genesis's control.

Kilik was Rika's teammate and developed romantic feelings for her. His decision to oppose Sora becomes one of the events that separates Rika and Sora.

Ine Makigami, Spitfire, Falko, Black Burn and Dontores rode alongside Rika in the original Sleeping Forest.
