Jai is arrogant, aggressive, and prone to wasting time on intimidation. He treats Senna as helpless and continues taunting her even when his mission requires a quick capture.
He holds grudges and reacts furiously when Ichigo Kurosaki severs his arm. This impulsiveness repeatedly forces Riyan to remind him of Ganryū’s orders.

Jai fights with two chakrams capable of homing in on designated targets. The curving blades can change direction after being thrown, pressuring an opponent from multiple angles before returning to him.
He can duplicate the chakrams and turn their copies into illusionary images of himself. These decoys conceal the real trajectory of his attacks and complicate efforts to locate his actual body.
Like the other Dark Ones, Jai manipulates Blanks. A Blank replaces the arm Ichigo severs, restoring his ability to fight. His considerable physical strength also allows him to seize Senna one-handed and overpower her at close range.

Jai leads the first direct attempt to capture Senna. He knocks her down and lifts her by the throat, but Ichigo arrives and cuts off his arm. Riyan prevents Jai from pursuing revenge before the proper time.
During the Gotei 13 ambush, Jai attacks Ichigo again while the other Dark Ones isolate the Shinigami. Inside the Valley of Screams, he works with Bau to prevent Ichigo from reaching Ganryū.
Rukia Kuchiki intercepts Jai after Renji Abarai helps Ichigo advance. Byakuya enters the battle, identifies the real Jai among his illusions, and destroys him with Senbonzakura Kageyoshi.

Riyan is his immediate superior in the field and repeatedly restrains his impulsive behavior. Mue, Bau, and Benin are his fellow Dark Ones.
