Ganishka

Ganishka is cruel, paranoid and consumed by the pursuit of absolute power. Experiences within the Kushan royal family teach him to regard affection as weakness and political life as a struggle in which relatives are potential assassins.

His fear of betrayal survives even after becoming an Apostle. Rather than satisfying him, supernatural power expands his ambitions until ruling the Kushan Empire is no longer enough.

Ganishka also possesses enormous pride. Although Apostles instinctively recognize Griffith's authority, Ganishka deliberately rebels against it, preferring destruction to submission.

Ganishka is one of the most powerful Apostles shown in the series. His Apostle existence differs from the usual flesh-and-blood transformations: he can manifest as enormous fog-like masses and elemental forms that conventional weapons struggle to damage.

He wields destructive lightning and can envelop wide areas in supernatural mist. Physical attacks against his manifested body are generally ineffective because the form lacks an ordinary solid structure.

With Daiba's magical expertise, Ganishka also creates the man-made behelit known as the Demon Womb. It transforms captives into demonic soldiers and war beasts, allowing the Kushan army to manufacture supernatural forces.

Ganishka leads the Kushan conquest of Midland, occupying Wyndham and turning the kingdom's population into subjects of an increasingly horrific regime.

His refusal to submit to Griffith creates a conflict between two supernatural powers. Griffith's new Band of the Hawk fights Ganishka's forces while human resistance groups struggle against Kushan occupation.

Seeking power beyond his existing Apostle form, Ganishka enters the Demon Womb and transforms into Shiva, an enormous form composed of countless merged astral and physical entities.

Griffith uses the Skull Knight's redirected Sword of Actuation strike against Ganishka. The resulting event transforms the world, merging the physical and astral realms in the Great Wave of the Astral World. Ganishka's enormous petrified form becomes associated with the landscape from which Falconia emerges.

Griffith is Ganishka's principal supernatural rival. Ganishka refuses the instinctive submission other Apostles show toward him.

Daiba is Ganishka's chief sorcerer and helps create the magical systems behind the Kushan Empire's demonic armies.

Silat initially serves Ganishka in hopes of restoring the Bakiraka. Silat's loyalty collapses as the emperor's monstrous ambitions become impossible to accept.

Zodd, Grunbeld, Locus, Irvine and Rakshas serve Griffith in the campaign against Ganishka.

Guts encounters and fights Ganishka's supernatural manifestation during the conflict surrounding Vritannis.
