Rakshas

Rakshas is sadistic, secretive and capricious. He enjoys frightening people and approaches assassination with a playful cruelty that distinguishes him even among Griffith's Apostle soldiers.

His allegiance is openly self-serving. He acknowledges Griffith's supernatural magnetism but refuses to frame his service as unquestioning devotion, declaring that he intends eventually to claim Griffith's head.

Rakshas retains awareness of Bakiraka techniques and traditions despite his exile. His encounters with Silat and the Tapasa reveal mutual familiarity mixed with disgust and hostility.

Rakshas is an Apostle with an extraordinarily amorphous body. He can flatten, stretch and reshape his dark mass, allowing him to conceal himself in shadows, squeeze through spaces and attack from unexpected directions.

His appendages can extend into tendrils capable of piercing or restraining opponents. He can also produce deceptive humanoid shapes and alter the apparent position of his mask.

Rakshas's assassination skills predate his transformation. As a former Bakiraka, he understands stealth and close combat at an elite level. Fire proves particularly effective against his amorphous Apostle body.

Rakshas appears when Griffith's new Band of the Hawk begins gathering. He intercepts Tapasa attempting to approach Griffith and identifies himself as a Bakiraka exile before entering Griffith's service.

He later participates in the campaign against Ganishka, operating primarily as an infiltrator and observer rather than a conventional frontline warrior.

After Rickert publicly rejects Griffith in Falconia, Rakshas pursues him and attempts to kill him. Silat and the Tapasa intervene, turning the escape into a confrontation between the former Bakiraka assassin and his old clan. Rickert eventually blasts Rakshas with an explosive weapon, while fire is used against his transformed body during the group's escape.

Griffith accepts Rakshas into the reborn Band of the Hawk despite Rakshas openly declaring that he hopes to kill him one day.

Silat belongs to Rakshas's former Bakiraka clan and becomes his opponent during the conflict in Falconia.

Rickert becomes Rakshas's assassination target after rejecting Griffith.

Erica is endangered and captured during Rakshas's pursuit of Rickert.

Daiba helps oppose Rakshas and rescue Erica during the escape from Falconia.
