Silat is proud, disciplined and fiercely committed to restoring the Bakiraka. His initial loyalty to Ganishka is practical rather than devotional: service to the emperor offers a possible route to reversing his clan's exile.

Defeat does not destroy his pride, but it does make him more thoughtful. Encounters with Guts teach Silat that even his extraordinary training has limits, while Ganishka's increasingly monstrous methods force him to question whether restoring his clan is worth serving such a ruler.

He cares deeply for his people. Silat's ambitions are collective rather than purely personal, and his decisions increasingly prioritize the survival and dignity of the Bakiraka.

Silat is one of the most capable purely human martial artists in Berserk. His speed, flexibility and acrobatics allow him to attack from unpredictable angles while avoiding conventional sword strikes.

His arsenal includes chakrams, katars and urumi-like flexible blades. He can rapidly switch between weapons according to distance and opponent, making his style difficult to read.

Silat's Tapasa bodyguards complement him with enormous physical strength. Although Silat possesses no supernatural abilities himself, his training allows him to survive encounters with enemies who exceed normal human limitations.

Silat first encounters Guts while seeking rewards and recognition that could improve the Bakiraka's standing. His confidence in his martial arts is challenged by the Black Swordsman's overwhelming combat experience.

Later, Silat serves Ganishka during the Kushan invasion of Midland. As the emperor increasingly employs demonic forces, Silat begins recognizing that the regime he hoped would restore his clan has become something profoundly dangerous.

Silat ultimately turns against Ganishka's cause and works with Daiba and the surviving Bakiraka. After Griffith establishes Falconia, Silat later helps Rickert and Erica escape from the city following Rakshas's attack.

Ganishka is initially Silat's emperor and the ruler whose favor he hopes will restore the Bakiraka. Silat's loyalty erodes as Ganishka's cruelty and supernatural transformation become undeniable.

Guts defeats Silat and becomes an important measure of how far ordinary human martial skill can be pushed.

Daiba later becomes an ally of Silat after both move away from Ganishka's cause.

Rickert and Erica receive Silat's help while escaping Falconia.

Rakshas becomes Silat's enemy during the attempt to kill Rickert.
