Chinami Sawaguchi

Chinami is polite, professional, and attentive in her duties as Mio's secretary. Her occasional clumsiness provides a lighter contrast to the increasingly serious events surrounding the Twin Towers.

She cooperates with the police after the murders begin and does not attempt to obstruct the investigation, even when she becomes one of the limited number of people with sufficient access to be considered a suspect.

Chinami also has a personal reason to react strongly to drinking and alcohol-related behavior because of experiences involving her father.

Chinami has no combat abilities or specialized investigative skills. She is an administrative professional familiar with the Twin Towers, the Tokiwa Group's personnel, and preparations for the opening ceremony.

Her access to the building and proximity to Mio give her knowledge of schedules, guests, and restricted areas relevant to the murder investigation.

Chinami introduces Kogorou Mouri, Conan Edogawa, and their companions to the Twin Towers during preparations for the grand opening.

After councilman Iwamatsu Oki is murdered, Chinami becomes one of the small group of people who could have entered his room because the building has not yet opened to the public.

Further murders reduce the suspect pool, but Conan eventually establishes that Chinami is not responsible. The actual killer is Hosui Kisaragi, whose motive concerns the Twin Towers obstructing his view of Mount Fuji.

Mio Tokiwa is Chinami's employer and the president for whom she works as secretary.

Yoshiaki Hara is a Tokiwa Group executive with whom Chinami works during preparations for the Twin Towers opening.

Hidehiko Kazama and Hosui Kisaragi are among the other people connected to the Twin Towers who become suspects alongside Chinami.

Kogorou Mouri and Conan Edogawa meet Chinami through Mio and subsequently investigate the murders surrounding the building.
