Mio Tokiwa

Mio is confident, professional, and comfortable managing the public responsibilities attached to a major corporation. She personally welcomes Kogorou and his companions to the Twin Towers and introduces the prominent people associated with the project.

Her friendship with Kogorou dates back to their university years, allowing her to interact with him more informally than an ordinary corporate acquaintance would. She also maintains interests outside business, particularly Japanese painting.

Mio has no combat abilities or supernatural powers. Her established strengths lie in corporate leadership and administration as president of the Tokiwa Group, a large technology company involved particularly in software and computer-related businesses.

She also studies traditional Japanese painting under Kisaragi. Her position gives her considerable influence over the Twin Towers project and access to the advanced technology developed by her company's employees.

Mio invites Kogorou and his companions to the Nishitama Twin Towers shortly before their grand opening. During the visit, she introduces architect Hidehiko Kazama, councilman Iwamatsu Oki, and Kisaragi, connecting the visitors with several people who soon become important to the investigation.

After Oki and Yoshiaki Hara are killed, Mio becomes one of the principal people connected to the serial murder investigation. She is later murdered during the Twin Towers opening party when Kisaragi uses a pearl necklace and wire mechanism to hang her in front of his Mount Fuji painting.

Conan ultimately determines that Kisaragi targeted Mio because the Twin Towers obstructed his cherished view of Mount Fuji.

Kogorou Mouri is Mio's former university classmate. She invites Kogorou Mouri and his companions to tour the Twin Towers before their opening.

Hosui Kisaragi is Mio's painting teacher. [Hosui Kisaragi ultimately murders Mio because of his resentment toward the Twin Towers project.](#spoiler)

Yoshiaki Hara is an executive and programmer working for Mio's Tokiwa Group.

Chinami Sawaguchi is Mio's secretary and assists with preparations surrounding the Twin Towers.

Hidehiko Kazama is the architect responsible for designing Mio's Twin Towers project.

Iwamatsu Oki is a Nishitama councilman whose political support helps make construction of the towers possible.
