Touma Tachihara

Touma is understandably disoriented after awakening. Eight years have passed without his awareness, leaving him physically much older while his memories and understanding of the people around him remain rooted in childhood.

He can become frustrated when others pressure him to remember his accident. Sentarou Kizaki warns that Touma should not be forced to recover traumatic memories before he is ready.

Touma nevertheless bonds with Conan Edogawa and the Detective Boys. Their company allows him to interact with children closer to the age at which his conscious life was interrupted, while their exploration of Kitanosawa gradually exposes him to familiar sights from his past.

Touma is an ordinary teenager without supernatural abilities or specialized combat training. His unusual circumstances come from his eight-year coma and the memory loss associated with his accident.

Specific sensory experiences can trigger fragments of his past. A diamond-dust phenomenon in the snowy landscape becomes particularly important, causing Touma to recall images connected with the night of his fall.

His memories become evidence in Conan Edogawa's investigation, although Touma himself is not a detective and initially cannot interpret everything he remembers.

Touma awakens shortly after Conan and his companions arrive in Kitanosawa. His recovery surprises Fuyumi Tachihara and Sentarou Kizaki, but his inability to remember his accident leaves the central question of what happened eight years earlier unresolved.

As he spends time with Ayumi Yoshida, Genta Kojima and Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya, familiar sights begin restoring pieces of his memory. These recollections become increasingly important after Shogo Hikawa is found dead.

Touma eventually remembers seeing Keisuke Yamao with jewels from a robbery on the night of Natsuki Tono's accident. Yamao realized the seven-year-old had witnessed incriminating evidence and chased him, leading Touma to fall from a cliff and enter the coma that lasted eight years.

Touma also remembers seeing Mizuki Tono push Natsuki during an argument immediately before Natsuki entered the roadway and was struck by Yamao's car. His recovered memories therefore resolve two major secrets from the same night.

Fuyumi Tachihara is Touma's mother. She cares for him throughout his eight-year coma and remains intensely protective after he awakens.

Sentarou Kizaki is Touma's doctor. He supervises Touma Tachihara's recovery and warns others against forcing him to remember his traumatic past.

Ayumi Yoshida, Genta Kojima and Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya befriend Touma after his awakening and spend time exploring the snowy area with him.

Conan Edogawa recognizes that Touma Tachihara's fragmented memories may contain vital evidence about the events of eight years earlier.
